Best Smartphone Brands in Asia Pacific
Heading over to Asia Pacific, we found that there was a new emerging trend towards newer smartphone manufacturers such as OPPO (check out this OPPO A9 2020 review). This trend doesn’t yet seem to have reached North America or Europe.
Best Smartphone Brands in North America (NA) and Europe (EU)
Let’s start with North America. The first section describes the best smartphone brands in these regions, while the second section provides more details about preferences in smartphones in NA and EU.
The U.S. always plays a leading role in the development of new trends in IT, and mobile devices are not an exception. However, it is interesting that the smartphone market differs significantly from others:
- the most popular operating system is Android;
- Apple’s popularity is on the decline;
- And the Windows Phone has only a marginal position.
This may indicate that North American consumers are conservative when it comes to smartphones. That’s why they stick to popular brands such as Apple and Samsung, even if new trends emerge.
According to our research results, the best smartphone brand in NA is … Samsung. The company’s top position has remained unchanged for a long time now. It is not surprising because Samsung manufactures high-quality smartphones that offer more or less the same functionality regardless of price. People like Samsung smartphones because they have enough resources to meet their expectations from a smartphone:
- Great design;
- Reliable performance;
- Long-lasting battery life;
- Big screen and good resolution;
- Good sound quality.
Samsung is followed by Apple and Nokia. The first one is number 2 in the ranking due to its popularity on a global scale, while Nokia is in third place because of its strong position in North America. Together they occupy over 50% of all votes received during our study (that’s 4 times more than their closest competitor).
Best Smartphone Brands in Europe (EU)
The top smartphone brands in Europe depend significantly from country to country. This is logical since European consumers have distinct national preferences in smartphones, even though they use devices designed for the global market (more information about smartphone brands’ popularity by countries – coming soon).
In EU countries with strong economies, such as England and Germany, Samsung tops the ranking of best smartphone brands. In Italy and France Nokia holds first place, while in Spain and Russia Samsung is the most popular brand.
The second spot in Europe is occupied by Apple with its iPhone devices occupying 43% of all votes received during our study. However, it should be mentioned that for the last two years the company has been experiencing a decline in popularity.
