If you have been looking to do something different with your Fortnite account, why not try something that will really let your imagination fly? In Fortnite Creative, you’re presented with a mode that can really bring your ideas to life. So let’s delve into what the mode is capable of.
What Exactly is Fortnite Creative Mode?
In Fortnite Creative, you are able to craft custom maps and make your own matches. You are presented with a sandbox environment to showcase your skills, and can share them with fellow players too. If you’re able to create a map that is of a high enough standard, then you have the chance to have it featured in the mode’s lobby. This will give you the chance to let other players see what you have created.
The mode allows you to gain access to several different assets that you can use. Whether its landscape items, vehicles, traps or props, you have plenty to use at your disposal. You can also have these assets to make a point of interest. You may even want to make your own game type as well. So if you have a hankering for a deathmatch, or fancy some platforming antics, then you’re in the right place.
Getting Started
If you want to start making your own map, then head to the Fortnite Creative lobby. Here you can start a server, and you’ll interact with a personal rift to allow you to make your own island. You can see other islands that have been saved here too. Once you have created your island, you will be able to choose the layout that goes with the Block. This makes an instance just for you so you can start crafting. Your progress is saved as you progress, though you’re limited by the assets that you can use. The assets that you do have each have a memory value, of which you have 100,000 to play around with.
You will find assets under your inventory. You will find a menu where you can gain access to a variety of asset kits. You can then add these to your inventory, which can then be placed wherever you desire. All you have to do is copy the Fortnite items that you wish from Fortnite item shop to use and them place them wherever you like.
You don’t have to worry about being restricted by movement, either. In fact, you have a flying mode to use so that you can essentially levitate off the ground as you are constructing. If you need to remove, place or copy and paste something then you can do so using device in-game. If you need to change your settings at any point, then go to the menu for your island. This lets you change the type of game that it is, as well as the settings, tools, description and what permissions the player has.
Publishing Your Map
Now that you have a map, it’s time for us to publish it. This allows you to share your map with your fellow community members, but first we need to make an application for the Support-a-Creator program in the game. You do need to meet a particular set of criteria for this however, though you can apply through Epic Games as well to get your map on the Block.
If your application is successful, then you can go to the My Island menu. From here, you’ll get your 12-digit map code, which you can send to your friends for them to check out. If you want to enter a map code for yourself, then go to the featured island windows in the Creative player area. Choose the option to change the destination then put the island code in for the map that you want to gain access to. Put the code in and you should be able to reach the map that you desire.
